A Giveaway!, My Life

Happy Thanksgiving 2016 & a De-Light-ful Give-Away!!!

No matter how you’re spending your Thanksgiving Day,

I hope it is enjoyable!

turkeyday2016

I wish many blessings for you and your loved ones this holiday season.

I promised a give-away this week, remember?

A while ago I contacted Mark at Classic Metal Company to let him know how much I appreciate the nice brochure I received when we bought our barn quilt a while back.

Remember me showing how it got hung up there?

The brochure has a nice plastic surface

so I’ve used it every time I’ve glued the past 2+ years!

For those of you that know my quilting,

you know I’ve made a LOT of little Dresden plates

that each have a couple of glueing steps.

I asked if he had more brochures that I could share with my quilting friends when I ship out my templates & patterns or teach a Dresden workshop.

It’s perfect because it protects my cutting mat each time I glue,

my applique pieces don’t stick to it as they dry

& the glue doesn’t build up on it.

Mark let me know that he has a new brochure for a new item he’s now selling along with his metal barn quilts.

Aren’t these lights cool?

You have a choice of 10 designs to light up,

and he’s working on a Dresden plate!

Along with the brochures,

he also sent me 3 of the lights along with

2 panels for each light.

They’re made in the USA!

He gave me 1 light to keep,

which I put in my sewing room below my ironing board.

It lights up each time I sit to sew.

He also gave me 2 more to give away to 2 lucky winners on my blog.

That could be you!

Just leave me a comment telling me where you would plug the little light in if you had one.

It would make a nice night-light for you

or a great gift for a quilting friend.

I’ll draw Saturday.

Good luck!

Just Keep Sewing…

Susan

  1. My sewing room sits at the front of my house (originally the living room). What a nice light it be there – and visible to passers by maybe. kathleendotlutzatcomcastdotnet

  2. What a neat idea. I would use it as a nightlight in the kitchen so I could see to get coffee in the darkness. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  3. I thought of so many places, for everyday in my sewing room next to my machine and when company comes by the coffee pot so it can be seen.

  4. I have 2 of mark’s metal signs and they are beautiful. I know the lights will be great too. I like the idea of having the light in my sewing room. I would put it in the guest room when we have friends and family stay with us.

  5. The lights are such a great idea! I would put one in my kitchen where everybody could see it and use it instead of my stove light at night.

  6. The ‘night-light’ is so cute! We have a large black dog, and getting up at night can be dangerous as he usually lays in the hall outside our bedroom door. I would definitely use this quilty light near our bedroom door to help avoid a collision in the middle of the night. Happy Thanksgiving to you & your Family. I enjoy following your blog.

  7. They are so cute !! I would give it a lady named Donna who does quilting for me. She is such a sweet Lady.

  8. Oh how delightful–I love little lights of all kinds–
I put it in my kitchen so that everytime I went in there for a snack–it would remind me to go and sew instead!!!
Thanksgiving Blessings to you and yours–
    love and laughter, di

  9. Those are adorable! I’d set it across from the doorway between my kitchen and sewing studio (formerly the dining room) so it can be seen when passing through that main hallway area. Thanks for the chance! These make a great gifty for guild Christmas party exchange!

  10. I think I would put it on a shelf in my family room. On the days I spend in my sewing room, I’d move it in there.

  11. These night lights are so cute! Thank you for sharing this new quilting “find” with us. One of these would look great in my quilting studio!
